This new breed originated from a house cat found in a shelter in Montana. This animal was bred to a Persian and produced the offspring with unique curly hair. The genes responsible for such coat is a dominant, so curly kitten are born from in the same litter with straight haired kittens. Selkirk rex rescues will provide a picture of this rare cat breed.
