Cat Breeder
A cat breeder may take a photo of each animal they have; rescues aren't likely to do so.
The first Selkirk Rex was a female, named Miss dePesto of Noface. She had curly coating and whiskers, and Jeri Newman, decided to use her in her new program. She introduced dePesto to one of her black Persians, and the crossing produced 6 kittens, 3 of which were curl-haired.

Cat Breeder -
photo, rescues
The Selkirk Rex appeared in the late 1980s, and it does closely resemble its Cornish Rex and Devon Rex cousins. However, the Selkirk has a sturdier body, and its gene pool contains the British Shorthair, The Persian and some exotic genes.
