The Cornish Rex originated in Cornwall, England around 1950 in a litter of barn cats. The appearance of the Cornish Rex is not like that of an average cat. These creatures have a distinctive head and body type. Some compare the body of the Cornish Rex to that of a Whippet dog, because of their arched back and long, thin legs. They also have a unique coat that is short and lies in washboard waves.
