Chartreux -
cats, kittens
This cat breed appeared in France in the 16th century. In Paris, these creatures lived not easy lives, because common people valued them for their pelts and meat; the healthiest animals were ratters. At the beginning of the 20th century people became interested in preserving this breed. Chartreux cats have large litters of kittens.
