Bengal Cat

The bengal cat can be viewed in a picture on most cats sites online. Actually these animals spend all the days sleeping and staying cool by swimming in rivers. At dusk, they begin to hunt and often patrol water holes waiting for deer and other prey. The common hunting technique for Tigers is hiding motionless in the grass to ambush their prey. Tigers are territorial and solitary animals and only come together during breeding seasons. Gestation period lasts 103 days, and litters average 2-3 cubs. Fathers do not participate in rearing the young, much because they mate with the several females that come within their range. Tigers are found in a wide variety of habitats throughout Asia. The geographic range of Tigers includes China, Russia (Siberia,) Sumatra, Bangladesh and India. Once Tigers were found in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran and other parts of Indonesia inhabiting jungle, tropical rainforests, mangrove swamps, grasslands, savannahs, and rocky terrain – all habitats that can provide them with enough prey, water and shelter. Man’s activity has resulted in deforestation that has entailed loss of their natural habitat. There are 5 remaining Tiger subspecies, and 3 subspecies became extinct in the 20th century. The remaining subspecies are also in danger of extinction due to poaching and extensive use of their body parts in traditional Chinese medicine. At the beginning of the 20th century, there were about 100,000 wild tigers. Now there are less than 8,000 tigers in the wild. The bengal cat can be viewed in a picture on most cats sites online.
