Cymric cats weigh 9-12 lbs, and are characterized by a rounded general appearance. Males are even cobbier than females. These cats have powerful legs, and the hind legs are much longer than the front legs. This allows them to make long jumps.

Cymric are friendly and affectionate companions. They need constant entertainment and attention, so there must be a number of toys and facilities for playing. The breed originated on the Island of Man off the coast of England, and comes to be a long-haired variety of the Manx breed.
